A window in the gallery looks out over the forging area of the studio where visitors can often watch the artwork being made. Surrounding the studio and gallery is an outdoor sculpture garden.
Kaviar ForgeKaviar Forge has been in its present location on historic Frankfort Ave. since 1985, transforming what was once a dump into a beautiful sculpture garden and studio. It is here that artist Craig Kaviar creates unique one of a kind hand forge iron and bronze furniture, sculpture and architectural elements. The workshop is a large industrial space filled with gas and coal forges, cranes, and hand tools too numerous to mention. Some of his industrial tools like the 200 pound Chambersburg Air hammer were originally built to be carried on a battleship during WW2 and a 200-ton press purchased from the Charlestown American War. "I like feel that by reusing this machinery of war for the making of artwork I am in a small way helping to turn swords into plowshares"
